c <br /> r_9 �_ t <br /> Gilman Britschgi offered RESOLUTION 1872 transferring the money from unbudgeted reserve <br /> and referring the matter to the Real Estate Committee, seconded by Councilman Royer and <br /> carried on roll call. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT THE MATTER OF MICROFILMING ALL DOCUMENTS IN THE CITY ATTORNEY'S <br /> OFFICE PERTAINING TO CITY MATTERS AND IN THE CITY CLERK'S VAULT BE REFERRED TO THE BUDGET <br /> STUDY COMMITTEE. He stated that it is possible for documents to become lost or misplaced <br /> and this method of microfilming would be a good one. Motion seconded by Councilman Jones <br /> and carried. <br /> MAYOR HERKNER INFORMED THE COUNCIL THAT THE MINISTERIAL ASSOCIATION OF REDWOOD CITY PRESENTED <br /> THE CITY WITH SEVERAL BIBLES for the various departments and one was directed to the Coun- <br /> cil. The Mayor accepted the bible on behalf of the Council and it was handed to the City <br /> Clerk for safe keeping. Councilman Granger moved that the Clerk be authorized to direct <br /> communication to the Ministerial Association thanking them for their thought in presenting <br /> these bibles and advising them that the City Clerk has been designated as custodian, second- <br /> ed by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> MAYOR HERKNER SUGGESTED THAT THE CITIZENS OF REDWOOD CITY SHOULD BE INFORMED OF THE ACTIVITIES <br /> OF THE CITY FOR THE PAST FISCAL YEAR and they should know where and how their money is <br /> spent. Tais is being done in several cities and it seems to be a good plan. Councilman <br /> Granger moved that the City Manager be instructed to give this matter some thought and <br /> and some time in the near future bring in his suggestion as to how this report should be <br /> presented to the citizens of Redwood City. <br /> MAYOR HERKNER BROUGHT UP THE MATTER OF THE PETITION WHICH WAS DISCUSSED SOME TIME AGO REGARDING <br /> ANNEXATION OF UPTON STREET. It is understood that there is going to be an election to dis- <br /> solve the present sewer district and petitions should be prepared so that there can be ac- <br /> tion on the petition at the time of the election. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER WILL ATTEND THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION ON MAY 10, 1 955. <br /> TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> ESTABISH WHITE ZONE JEFFERSON AVENUE ADJACENT TO ENTRANCE TO CITY HALL REAR YARD FOR COURTESY <br /> ma h moved he recommendation be a ed a nded b <br /> MAIL BOX. Councilman Britschgi mov t approved, seconded by Council - <br /> man Stout and carried. <br /> BARRIER OPPOSITE RENATO COURT ON EL CAMINO REAL. Letter from City Manager read and also letter <br /> from Attorney Alley representing residents of Renato Court. Traffic Committee recommended <br /> against openings on the barrier due to additional hazards which would be created. Letter <br /> filed. <br /> REPORT ON PROPOSED ADDITIONAL SIGNALS ON BROADWAY. Letter from City Manager in which he stated <br /> that according to the Taper Tube Pole Co., manufacturers of signals, it is impossible to <br /> improve the intersections by signalization. No action taken. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER SUGGESTED THAT TRAFFIC PROBLEM AT BANK OF AMERICA PARKING LOT BE LOOKED INTO. <br /> He was informed that the Traffic Fact Finding Committee is working with architects on this. <br /> Also the traffic problem at the Purity Store at Arguello and Marshall. There is a lot of <br /> loading being done on that corner and Councilman Britschgi suggested that the loading be <br /> done in parking lot at the back of the store. Matter referred to the Traffic Fact Finding <br /> Committee. <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER MOVED ADJOURNMENT AT 9:45 P. M., seconded 'v Counci man Spillers and carried. <br /> ► o � -- <br /> RALPH .
