Subtask 4.2 — Intranet GIS Design
The City's staff will design the organizational structure and behavior of the newly added GIS
layers within the map interface, group layers into folders and sub - folders on the map, determine
list and display rank of GIS layers, as well as determine which layers are to be linked and
selectable and /or query -able.
Subtask 4.3 — Theme -ina of GIS Lavers
The City's staff will color and symbolize GIS layers, create map legends, add labels, set zoom
levels, link layers and add tool tips where appropriate.
Subtask 4.5 — Create Port Map
The task will create a pre -made map within the Intranet GIS customized for Port use. This
function is in essence a 'shortcut' to GIS data most relevant to the Port. The map will center on
the Port area and display the layers deemed relevant by the Port more prominently. The City's
GIS staff will meet with the Port staff to assess their needs, customize the layers displayed and
information available to Port users, create custom Port groups and apply appropriate
permissions.
Subtask 4.6 - Select. Query, Export
This task will give the port the ability to select query, and export relevant layers. It will also add
layer properties to Query Builder and define values. The City will also design information
screens and Excel export format.
TASK 5 — Demonstration and Training
The City staff will conduct demonstration and training after the implementation and completion
of the GIS work. The intent of the training will be to familiarize the Port's staff with the GIS
platform and teach them how to use the system. The training will cover the basics of selecting
and query-ing layers and generating printable maps. The training workshop can be conducted
either at the Port's or City's office, depending on the Port's preference.
TASK 6 — Hosting and Connection
Subtask 6.1 — Create Connection
The City will create a secure tunnel from the Port's offices to internal GIS located in the City's
data center. The City will set up a maximum of ten (10) users, create groups, and implement
secure connections to the City servers.. The City's staff will create Port's website and copy the
static HTML files and imagery provided by Tactical Survey and crate the appropriate DNS
entries to access this project using the domain, portgis.redwoodcity.org.
Subtask 6.2 — Enhance Connection
The Port is currently connected via DSL to the Internet. Since the GIS will be hosted at the
City's City Hall data center, the Port's DSL connection will be used to access the GIS. As the
amount of data anticipated to be transferred is quite large, a DSL connection may not be
