6.3.D. - Page2 <br /> For those interested in running for office of City Council the nomination period will be <br /> between July 18 and August 12, 2011. If an incumbent who qualifies does not file, the <br /> nomination period will be extended through August 17, 2011. Nomination papers are <br /> available through the City Clerk only. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> 1. The City Council could elect to conduct its own elections but this would <br /> dramatically increase the costs to the City and to candidates. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> There will be a cost to the election, and this cost depends on multiple factors. The <br /> approximate cost per registered voter could be between $2.50 and $3.00. As of May 3, <br /> 2011 the number of registered voters in Redwood City was 34,079.
