7.A. - Page 4 ATTACHMENT #2 <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITIZENS OPTION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> (COPS) FUNDS <br /> NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Redwood City will hold a public <br /> hearing on the expenditure of up to $100,000 in state grant funds. These funds <br /> were awarded through the Citizens Option for Public Safety (COPS) program. <br /> The funds must be used for front line law enforcement services, including <br /> personnel, equipment, and programs necessary to meet police service needs <br /> within Redwood City. The City Council will consider written requests submitted by <br /> the Police Chief for the expenditure of funds received. <br /> It will be the recommendation of the Police Chief that this year's award be <br /> allocated to the purchase of police equipment, including security cameras for <br /> high-crime areas, night-vision surveillance equipment, audio surveillance and <br /> recording equipment, vehicle tracking equipment and police tactical equipment. <br /> You are invited to comment on the proposed expenditure at a public hearing to <br /> be held on the 23rd day of May, 2011, beginning at 7:00 p.m. or soon <br /> thereafter, at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road, Redwood City California. <br /> Testimony must either be given in person at the time of the public hearing or <br /> received, in writing, by the Police Department prior to the date of the hearing. <br /> Testimony cannot be given over the phone. <br /> If you have any questions, please contact Sergeant Steve Blanc by telephone at <br /> (650) 780-7143. <br />
