6.1.D. - Page3 AGREEMENT FOR FIRE MARSHAL SERVICES THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into , 2011, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and municipal corporation of the State of California ("City"), the BELMONT-SAN CARLOS FIRE DEPARTMENT, a Joint Powers Agreement, ("Fire JPA"), organized pursuant to Section 13801, et seq., of the Health and Safety Code (collectively, the "Parties"). RECITALS A. The Parties provide fire and life safety prevention services, fire investigation, and fire prevention management services; and B. Fire JPA wishes to contract for the provision of Fire Marshal Services by City, and City is willing and able to provide such services; and C. The Parties are entering into this Agreement as authorized pursuant to California Government Code section 54980, et seq. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants contained therein, the Parties agree as follows: 1. Scope of Work. The City's Fire Marshal will perform the following services for Fire JPA: A. Develop and maintain Fire Prevention related programs as defined below: • Fire and Life Safety Code management services to the Chief of the F i re J PA a n d F i re J PA staff • Fire Code, Company Inspection Management • Origin and Cause Fire Investigation procedures • Fire Plan review management • Public Information Officer duties • Department staff training in fire code inspection processes and p roced u res 2. Term. Unless earlier terminated in writing by any one of the Parties pursuant to Section 17 below, the term of this Agreement will commence upon the date first written above and shall continue in full force and effect until terminated in writing by either party pursuant to Section 17, Termination. 3.
