OVE <br />The project sponsor would be responsible for implementing the <br />following mitigation measures to reduce construction impacts during improvement of the <br />sewer system and replacement of distribution facilities, which were included in the 1989 <br />Proposed Secord Amendment to the City of Redwood City Redevelopment Plan for <br />Redevelopment Project #2 Draft EIR to reduce the severity of these impacts (the <br />numbers represent the Mitigation Measure numbers from the 1989 Proposed Second <br />Amendment to the City of Redwood City Redevelopment Plan for Redevelopment <br />Project #2 Draft EIR). <br />• All sanitary improvements, relocations, or additions proposed <br />should be designed and constructed to meet all criteria and <br />standards established by the Redwood city Community <br />Development Department. <br />• Unpaved construction sites should be sprinkled with water at least <br />twice per day. <br />• Stockpiles of soil, sand, and other such materials should be <br />covered (Air Quality Mitigation Measure 2). <br />• Trucks hauling debris, soil or other such materials should also be <br />covered. <br />• Streets surrounding demolition and construction sites should be <br />swept at least once per day. <br />• Paving and planting should be done as soon as possible. <br />• Construction equipment engines should not be kept idling when not <br />in use and should receive periodic maintenance. This would <br />reduce emission of air pollutants associated with their use and, <br />consequently, reduce the likelihood of spot violations of the CO <br />standards and odor complaints (Air Quality Mitigation Measure 5). <br />• Construction activities should be limited to daylight hours and <br />construction equipment should be muffled or controlled to State <br />standards shown in Table 16, page 4G -9 of the 1980 Draft EIR <br />(Noise Mitigation Measure 1). <br />Finding: The mitigation measure is feasible and would reduce the <br />impacts of the Project and the Higher Occupancy Scenario to less- than - significant <br />levels. <br />The mitigation measure would reduce the potential impact on air quality by <br />minimizing the amount of exposed soil and dust and by maintaining equipment engines <br />in good condition.
