effect a change of personnel or operations of management or of employees not covered <br />by this MOU. <br /> <br />SECTION 7. PAY <br /> <br />7.1 Pay Period <br /> <br />Employees shall be paid bi-weekly. <br /> <br />7.2 Salary Increases <br /> <br />7.2.1 <br /> <br />Effective with the first pay period on or after September 1, 1998, the <br />monthly salaries shall be increased by 5.93% with a monthly salary range <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Police Sergeant 5109 5364 5632 5914 6210 <br /> <br />7.2.2 <br /> <br />Effective with the first pay period beginning on or after September 1, <br />1999, salaries shall be calculated by comparing the total compensation <br />rates of Police Sergeants in Redwood City to the average total <br />compensation of Police Sergeants and Police Lieutenants in the cities and <br />by the formula specified below: <br /> <br />Daly City <br />Hayward <br />Mountain View <br />Palo Alto <br />San Mateo <br /> <br />San Bruno <br />San Leandro <br />South San Francisco <br />Sunnyvale <br />Union City <br /> <br />Formula: Increase the level of the Sergeant base salary by an amount of <br />1/3 of the average total compensation differential between the surveyed <br />Sergeant and Lieutenant classes. <br /> <br />The comparative calculation shall include top step base salary, employee <br />PERS payments, vacation, holiday and administrative leaves, educational <br />and longevity incentives, deferred compensation, and health and welfare <br />contributions. <br /> <br />The total compensation comparison shall be effective_September 1, 1999, <br />and annually thereafter on September 1, during the term of the MOU. <br /> <br />In the event one or more of the above listed comparative cities is in labor <br />negotiations due to the expiration of their labor MOU and does not have <br />salary data available as of September 1, 1999 or September 1, 2000, the <br />total compensation factor for those cities shall be 2%. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />
