ITEM E - MODEL CALIBRATION ($5,626)
The model calibration is divided into two calibration operations: a preliminary
calibration of selected area of the water system and the final calibration of the
entire water model. BKF will perform preliminary calibrations of two selected
areas to evaluate the information used in the water model. Based on the
findings of the preliminary calibrations, BKF will readjust the information of
the entire water model. The preliminary calibration will also be used to
gradually calibrate the model from the Hetch Hetchy line and water tanks to
the bayfront area. The model preliminary calibration will be performed using
the fire hydrant tests results provided by the City.

BKF will perform the final calibration using the seasonal water demand
associated with the time of year the hydrant tests are performed. We will
provide h summary table of the calibration results.

ITEM F - SCENARIOS ($4,268)
BKF proposes to evaluate three different scenarios under normal service
conditions and emergency service conditions. The normal service conditions
simulate the water system operating with the Hetch Hetchy line. The
emergency service condition simulates operation during an interruption of the
Hetch Hetchy line service, when the system would be supplied by the
emergency storage alone. This item includes the manipulation of the
information required by the scenarios, the management of the output
information and a cursory memo of the results.

We have assumed the scenarios will not require revisions to the calibration of
the water model describe above.

ITEM G - COMBINE MODELS ($9,312)
We understand that the City would also like to upgrade the existing water
model of the Redwood Shores area. BKF proposes to modify the RWS water
model using similar procedures describe above for the Redwood City water
model. In addition, we propose to combine the two water models into a one
comprehensive model for these two areas.

ITEM H - REPORT ($4,268)
BKF will prepare a summary of the findings made on the existing system
operation and three scenarios evaluated. The report will identify the critical
areas of the water system simulated based on the City hydraulic design criteria
and a map of the water model.

ITEM G - REIMBURSABLE ($1,881)
We recommend a budget of approximately 5% of the design fee for
reimbursable expenses. All reimbursables will be billed with a 10% mark up.
Reimbursable include plotting reproduction costs and express delivery costs.
