ICF
INTERNATIONAL
Miramonte Reservoir Expansion EIR— Mountain View, California
Project manager for the EIR prepared for expanding the City's
Miramonte Reservoir in Mountain View. The project included
preparation of an IS and alternatives screening report. Project
alternatives that are analyzed with an equal level of detail, include
constructing a new reservoir adjacent to the existing, constructing
two new reservoirs and removing the existing, and expanding the
size of a planned separate reservoir at a different site. Issues include
visual, geologic /seismic safety, and construction - related noise and
traffic impacts on the surrounding Los Altos residential area. This
project is controversial because of opposition from the surrounding
residents.
Stanford University Master Lighting Plan IS —Palo Alto, California
Managed preparation of an IS for installation and operation of
additional lighting at six athletic facilities at Stanford University.
Athletic facilities included the football practice field, softball field,
soccer field, rugby field, track, and tennis courts. Issues included
increased light and glare on the surrounding community and on
biological resources; effects on historical buildings; increased noise;
and construction - related traffic, air emissions, and noise.
Sobrato Fountain Park Office Development IS— Mountain View,
California
Managed preparation of an IS for demolition of an existing office
building; construction of a 102,500- square -foot, four -story office
building; and construction of a three - level, 400 -space parking
garage. Issues included hazardous materials associated with
groundwater contamination, noise /vibration associated with adjacent
light rail operation, and increased traffic.
Ryland Villa Street Townhomes IS —City of Mountain View, California
Managed preparation of an IS for development of 52 residential
units. Because the project site is a Superfund site adjacent to
railroad tracks in a historic area of Mountain View, issues included
hazardous materials, cultural resources, and noise and vibration.
Although the IS was prepared, it was not circulated for public review
because the project was put on hold due to the hazardous materials
issues.
Kate Giberson
