Box 391 <br /> Redwood City, CA 94064 <br /> RE: PUMP STATION NO. 25 IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT <br /> Dear Mr. Tan: <br /> Winzler & Kelly is pleased to provide this proposal to the City of Redwood City for professional <br /> services related to the Pump Station No. 25 Improvements Project. <br /> PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> Pump Station No. 25 was constructed in 1997 to serve the flows generated from the Westport <br /> Office Park. The existing pump station structures consist of the concrete wet well located <br /> adjacent to a vault containing flexible couplings and a separate valve vault. The flexible <br /> coupling vault adjacent to the wet well has settled slightly. In lieu of performing a geotechnical <br /> investigation to evaluate options for mitigating the settlement of the flexible coupling vault, the <br /> City has elected to eliminate the vault and replace the existing flexible couplings with direct <br /> buried flexible expansion joints. <br /> In general, the project includes four primary project elements. These elements include: 1) Pump <br /> Station No. 25 wet well concrete repair and re- lining; 2) demolition of the flexible coupling vault <br /> adjacent to the Pump Station No. 25 wet well; 3) replacement of the existing flexible coupling <br /> assemblies with direct buried flexible expansion joints; and 4) Installation of Flygt "Safe- Hatch" <br /> safety hatches at 17 pump station wet wells within the City of Redwood City. <br /> Our proposal and fee is outlined below for your consideration: <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> Task 1 - Project Management, QA/QC and Client Meetings <br /> This task includes project administration, coordination, attending meetings and quality control as <br /> stated in the following sub - sections: <br /> Task 1.1 Project Coordination and Administration <br /> Winzler & Kelly will provide project coordination; we will communicate project issues with the <br /> City, develop a project work plan and schedule (which will be updated as necessary), track and <br /> report on Work progress. <br /> 417 Montgomery Street, Suite 700, San Francisco, CA 94104 <br /> Tel 415.283.4970 fax 415.283.4980 <br /> www.w - and -k.com <br />
