_ 4 WINZLER■Ss_ KELLY City of Redwood City March 30, 2011 Page 2 Task 1.2 Quality Assurance / Quality Control A Senior Principal with Winzler & Kelly will perform QA/QC reviews of milestone deliverables. Task 1.3 Provide Narrative Progress Reports Our Project Manager will prepare and submit narrative progress reports with each invoice that address specific accomplishments during the reporting period; problems encountered or anticipated and recommended solutions; results of any significant activities; specific details focusing on any problems or issues affecting the project design, scope, budget or schedule. Task 2 — Review Background Information and Prepare 30% Preliminary Design Memorandum The purpose of this task is to present the preliminary design concepts, proposed installation methods, and associated costs for City review and selection. The Preliminary Design Memorandum will include typical details as appropriate and will provide the basis for the Final Design. Task 2.1 Review Existing Pump Station Background Information Winzler & Kelly will review existing pump station background information. This review will include site visits to each of the 17 pump station sites to document existing conditions. Task 2.2 Prepare Preliminary Design Memorandum Winzler & Kelly will develop an alternative pipe configuration to replace the existing flexible coupling assemblies with direct buried flexible expansion joints and eliminate the pump Station No. 25 flexible coupling vault. We will also develop the basis for the Pump Station No. 25 relining work which will involve removal of existing T -Lock lining, concrete repair and relining with a high -build epoxy or polyurethane -type protective lining product. Typical details will be prepared showing the demolition of existing hatches and installation of Flygt "Safe- Hatches" at the 17 pump station sites. The Preliminary Design Memorandum will document the results of the work described above. A table of contents of specifications will be included in the Preliminary Design Memorandum along with an Engineer's Opinion of Probable Construction Costs. Winzler & Kelly' s key staff will meet with City staff, following the City's review of the Preliminary Design Memorandum, to review the City's comments and questions and to come to consensus on the design elements prior to commencing the Final Design. Deliverables: Preliminary Design Memorandum — Submit FIVE (5) copies to the City for review.
