EXHIBIT A <br /> SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF THE SITE <br /> I. HOURS OF WORK <br /> A. Working hours shall be from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday and <br /> excluding all City Holidays. <br /> II. PLANS <br /> A. Those plans entitled Broadway Sidewalk Extension (2636 -2644 Broadway and <br /> 2399 Broadway) <br /> B. The City's Standard Specifications and Details. <br /> C. State of California Department of Transportation, "Standard Specifications" and <br /> "Standard Plans ", latest edition, are hereby made a part of this contract. <br /> III. ACCESS TO PROJECT <br /> A. Tours may be arranged on an as- needed basis for those who want to visit the <br /> site, prior to bidding. Contact Tanisha Werner, Project Engineer at (650) 780- <br /> 7366 to arrange a site visit. <br /> IV. INCLEMENT WEATHER <br /> A. An allowance of two (2) working days for inclement weather delay has been <br /> included in the time allowed for completion. <br /> V. TIME OF COMPLETION, INSURANCE & BONDS <br /> A. Time of completion shall be Thirty (30) calendar days from the Notice to <br /> Proceed. <br /> B. Construction shall commence no later than Monday June 20, 2011. <br /> C. The contractor shall submit a certificate of insurance showing comprehensive <br /> workers' compensation and general liability insurance coverage in the amount of <br /> $1,000,000. Such certificate shall also name the City of Redwood City, its <br /> Council, Boards, Commissions, Officers, Agents and employees as additional <br /> insured on the policy as shown in paragraph 7 of the "Agreement ". <br /> D. The contractor must post bonds; one to guarantee performance of the proposed <br /> construction in accordance with the plans and specifications, and the other to <br /> guarantee payment of labor and materials. Both bonds shall be in an amount of <br /> 100% of the contract price and shall be notarized and a Power of Attorney shall <br /> be included for the person signing on behalf of the surety (see Standard Bond <br /> Attachments). Other bond forms may be used, subject to approval prior to <br /> contract execution. <br /> VI. DAMAGE <br />
