The Arch:itectural Permit for
this project was reviewed by the Architectural Review Committee on January' 22,
2002. Both applications were approved subject to conditions based on the
following findings:

1. Noise

Findings:
. The pro'posed ground-level equipment is expected to operate on a 24-hour
basis. The City. anticipates that the proposed sound wall enclo"sure
around the proposed equipment will effectivety shield all equipment noise
and vibration and not ca~se significant iocreases in sound levels for .the
adjoining neighbors. .
. Although the ground-level equipment will be a uwhisper-quiet" model with
very, low noise emissions, some of the neighbors have expressed
concerns regarding the impact of the facility on the neighboring ambient
noise. Because the ambient noise level of the adjacent residential'
, neighborhood is low, the applicant shall be responsible (at Verizon's
expense) for a sound study to bå conducted by an independent sound
monitoring company (a'pproved by the City)"to measure noise levels at the
property line prior to. and during the operation of the proposed equipment
over'a 24-hour period. The results shall be submitted to the City for review
within seven days of the completion of the sound studies.

"

. ~

1017 Middlefield Road

Redwood City, CaIñornia 94063

(650) 780-7234

FAX 780-0128
