�.9'/- �3 <br /> ATTACHMENT 3 <br /> Annual Action Plan . <br /> 2005-2006 <br /> ' COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES & PRIORITY STRATEGIES 2005-2010 <br /> The goal of the City of Redwood City over the next five year funding period is to <br /> provide safe and sanitary housing opportunities in suitable locations for all <br /> segments of the population. The target group to be assisted under each goal is <br /> households with incomes at or below 80% of inedian income for San Mateo <br /> County. <br /> The City's 2005-2010 Annual Action Plan demonstrates a relationship between <br /> the Consolidated Plan priorities and activities selected for funding during the first <br /> year of the Plan. The major theme of this Consolidated Plan is "Housing <br /> Production and Basic Human Needs". The proposed activities, to be undertaken <br /> with CDBG and HOME funds, reflect the City's strategy to targPt funds which <br /> integrate a continuum of activities ranging from homeless assistance to economic <br /> development and permanent housing. All activities proposed to be funded will <br /> meet one or more of the City's Consolidated Plan priorities. The City has <br /> identified a number of programs that will be delivered under each Priority. The <br /> Priority Strategies are: <br /> Priority Strategy # 1— Expansion and preservation of affordable housing - The <br /> goal of the City is to increase the affordable housing stock and provide <br /> decent, safe, and sanitary housing in adequate supply and at affordability <br /> levels for a wide range of residents from low income to poverty level. <br /> Priority Strategy # 2— Provide public service activities fhat he/p to reduce <br /> poverty, prevent home/essness, and provide intervention programs that <br /> meets basic human needs, and assist specia/ needs populations - The goal of <br /> the City is to provide a continuum of services ranging from homeless <br /> prevention and homeless services, to supportive housing, intervention � <br /> programs, and services which respond to basic human needs including food, <br /> health,. safety, survival, independent living, and self-sufficiency. <br /> Priority Strategy # 3— Implement non-housing community development <br /> activities to provide economic and physical improvements and facilities for <br /> social programs in low income neighborhoods - The City's goal is to promote <br /> economic and job development activities for low income persons, and <br /> facilitate capital improvements that improves the quality of life in low income <br /> neighborhoods, and provide a variety of public facilities where anti-poverty <br /> and supportive intervention services can be delivered for a range of special <br /> needs populations. <br /> REDEVSHARED_2005 STAFF REPORTS_05-2005_2005-2006 Annual Action Plan Attach 2 � <br />
