The Boys and <br /> Girls Club Learning Center will provide homework assistance, computer training, and an <br /> opportunity to interact socially with peers in a safe, positive environment. Funding <br /> Requested: $S, 000. Funding Recommended: $3, 500. <br /> Casa de Redwood — Better Li��in� for Seniors. The "Better Living for Seniors" <br /> Program will provide social, recreational, self-help and instructional programming for <br /> low-income seniors who live at Casa de Redwood. These low or no cost activities range <br /> from bingo to dances to exercise classes to trips, as well as the Senior Companion <br /> Program. Funding Requested: ,8'S, D00. Funding Recommended: $S, 000. <br /> Center for the Independenc� of the Disabled. CID will provide a variety of services <br /> including: peer counseling, independent living skills training, personal assistance <br /> program, Shopping Assistance for Someone who is Homebound (SASH), volunteers in <br /> money management, and information and referral. Funding Reguested: $S, 000. Funding <br /> Recommended: $5,000. <br /> Child Care Coordinatin� Council of San Mateo Countv. The Child Care <br /> Coordinating Council of San Mateo County will provide childcare subsidies for school- <br /> age children of income eligible working families residing in Redwood City. Funding <br /> Requested: �40, 000. Funding Recommended.• $2, 700. <br /> CORA 24-Hour Crisis Hotline and Suaport Services. The 24 Hour Crisis Hotline and <br /> Support Services will provide 24-hour, year-round emergency assistance to victims of <br /> domestic violence, as well as those in danger of becoming victims of violence. Funding <br /> Requested.• �20, 000. Funding Recommended: $10, 000. <br /> EI Centro de Libertad-SMART Pro�ram (Students Makin� a Responsible <br /> Transition). The SMART Program is an in-school prevention education program <br /> offered to youth attending either the County's court and community schools or alternative <br /> programs for high-risk youth. Funding Requested: $20, 000. Funding Recommended: <br /> �'8, 000. <br /> Ellipse Peninsula AIDS Services — AIDS & HIV Case Mana�ement and Financial <br /> Emer�encv Assistance. Ellipse will provide case management, and support services <br /> including emergency food and emergency financial assistance to individuals in Redwood <br /> City who are HN-infected and their families.
