6.1.C. - Page 8 <br />Goal BE-2G: Improve walking, bicycling, and electric bicycle /scooter facilities to be more <br />convenient, comfortable, and safe, and therefore more common transportation <br />modes in Redwood City. <br />Policy BE -26.1: Coordinate the planning, funding, prioritization, and <br />implementation of bicycle, electric bicycle /scooter, and <br />pedestrian policies, programs, and supporting infrastructure. <br />Policy BE -26.2: Develop and maintain comprehensive master plans for the <br />v SustainabiltyFocus citywide bicycle, electric bicycle /scooter, and pedestrian <br />networks to identify short- and long -range policies, programs, <br />and improvement projects that will improve walking and <br />bicycling. <br />Ti , Policy BE -26.3: Encourage citizen participation in improving the city's <br />SustainabilityFocus "complete streets" and bicycle and pedestrian networks. <br />Policy BE -26.4: Consider street modifications to improve bicyclist, electric <br />bicycle /scooter, and pedestrian safety through such measures <br />as the use of neighborhood traffic management strategies, the <br />development of complete streets concepts, and <br />implementation of Bicycle Boulevards. <br />Policy BE -26.5: Integrate financing and implementation of pedestrian, bicycle, <br />and electric bicycle /scooter improvement projects with other <br />related street modifications projects. <br />Policy BE -26.6: Require new development projects to provide pedestrian, <br />O V SustainabilityFocus bicycle, and electric bicycle /scooter facilities that connect to <br />existing and planned pedestrian and bicycle facilities; and <br />require large parking facilities to accommodate pedestrian, <br />bicycle, and electric bicycle /scooter circulation. <br />Policy BE -26.7: Promote the collection and maintenance of data on pedestrian, <br />bicycle, and electric bicycle /scooter activity to better <br />understand where heaviest use and safety and improvement <br />needs are and to assist in prioritizing improvement projects. <br />Policy BE -26.8: Identify funding for the regular maintenance of all public <br />bicycle, electric bicycle /scooter, and pedestrian facilities. <br />Policy BE -26.9: Use portions of railroad and utility rights -of -way for use as <br />exclusive or shared bicycle, electric bicycle /scooter, and <br />pedestrian facilities, as feasible. <br />
