6.1.B. - Page 53 <br />TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU) LOCAL 521 <br />SIDE LETTER RE: SAFETY INTERESTS IN LIBRARY DEPARTMENT <br />Within sixty (60) days of agreement between the parties over a successor <br />Memorandum of Understanding, the City will: <br />(1) Install panic alarms that alarm Police Dispatch upon activation at each Library <br />branch front desk. <br />(2) Reserve three (3) parking spots at the Fair Oaks Library closest to the exitx of <br />p, yesh building for workers who work after dark. <br />(3) Hire a safety consultant to review safety concerns involving patrons. <br />(4) Present staff procedures to SEIU to address threatenina patron conduct. <br />If, when opening Library branches, the second staff person calls in sick, is late to work, <br />opening the branch to the public. <br />w <br />Page 27 of 30 <br />
