• f Q
,,,,--,,;,, Findings: The mitigation measure iden6fied above is feasible and
G" reduces the potentially significant environmeMal impact described above to a less-than-
significant level.
F. Erosion and Sedimentation
Potential Impact: Soils eroded during Project construction could wash
directly or indirectly into Redwood Creek or Smith Slough, potentially causing
sedimentation, increased flooding potential and maintenance problems and also
potentially degrading water quality in the creek, slough and marinas by increasing
turbidity (Impact 11-6). __
Mitigation: The Project shall prepare and implement during construction
an erosion control plan approved by the City and consistent with the required Project
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, with provisions consistent with Mitigation
Measure 11-6.
Findings: Mitigation Measure 11-6 is feasible and reduces sedimentation
and turbidity to less than significant levels.
IX. PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY
,- Potential Impact: The Project would lead to new development and
several thousand residents within the San Carlos Airport pianning area, potentially
affecting operation of the San Carlos Airport and presenting potential nuisance issues
(Impact 12-1).
Mitigation: The Project shall be reviewed by the City/County Association
of Governments and the Federal Aviation Administration, and shall conform to
conditions imposed within the jurisdiction of those agencies to ensure that navigation is
not obstructed and that awareness measures are taken so that residents know about
and acknowledge potential nuisarce and safety issues which could affect them
(Mitigation Measure 12-1).
Findings: Mitigation Measure 12-1 is feasible and will eliminate any
potential significant hazards and reduce potential effects on operation of the San Carlos
Airport and potential nuisance and safety issues for residents to levels of insignificance.
X. NOISE AND VIBRATION
A. Residential Noise Exaosure
Potential Impact: Upper story residences at the Project would be
exposed to unshielded freeway and aviation noise in excess of applicable standards
(Impact 13-1).
1289\02779278.2 32
Atty/Reso/Reso.1470 .
052004
