Community Task Force on Recycled Water - Statement of Purpose
On August 11, 2003, the City Council adopted a memorandum setting
forth the conceptual proposal for a Community Task Force on Recycled
Water (the "Task Force"). The purpose of the Task Force was outlined
as follows:
1. "To find 2,000 acre feet per year (AF/YR) of recycled water and/or
additional conservation of water (beyond that which has been
identified`) by 2010, in a financially feasible manner by identifying
alternative sites to schools and playgrounds
2. To find alternative phasing which is financially feasible to allow the
City to avoid using recycled water at schools and playgrounds
3. Re-examining the issue of safety is not within the purpose, as the
Council has made that determination
4. The Task Force agrees to help educate, inform and advocate for
their recommendation to the community if Council accepts it.
" Per the City of Redwood City Urban Water Management Plan,
June 2, 2003."
B. Additionally, Task Force members were to
be residents of Redwood Shores, and other Redwood City
neighborhoods, business people and others. 2
' Jeff Ira and Barbara Pierce, Redwood CiN Recvcled Water Proiect 8/112003 CiN Council Meetina Aaenda
Item No 6 A Attachment No 2 As Revised and Adopted bv the CiN Council Auaust 11. 2003.
Z Ibid.
Recycled Water Task Force Report - Attachment 1 page 1
