Background The contract was duly advertised and five sealed bids were received and opened at the , Office of the City Engineer on April 9, 2003. On May 19, 2003 the City Council approved the contract docum�nts and specifications and awarded the contract to Consolidated Consortium Corp. (CC Corp), in the amount of $468,167.00. The contract was terminated on March 31, 2004. The contract was 74.8% complete. The breakdown of contract expenditures were: �` Finai Contract Amount OriginaiContractAmount $468,167.00 Completed contract work - $350.088.59 (74.8%) CIP balance retained $ 118,078.41 The contractor pertormed sidewalk repairs at all locations where sidewalk defects exceeded one-inch in deviation. Wheel chair ramps were constructed at all comers within the project area. All repairs were made with the retention of existing healthy street trees as the primary focus. In many instances, the repairs could not have been successfully made in the limited public right-of-way space available. In order to provide adequate space between the tree and newly constructed sidewalk, sidewalk maintenance easements were granted by some property owners to allow the public sidewalk to be placed on private property. Staff is completing all of the easement paperwork and deed recording.
