5,4 D- <br /> � <br /> WHEREAS, the Project will assist in the elimination of blighting conditions inside <br /> the Downtown Redevelopment Project Area by rehabilitating a historic landmark <br /> building in the core of the downtown; and <br /> WHEREAS, if a contribution to the local match is requested by the City, the <br /> Agency agrees to provide sufficient funds; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the <br /> City of Redwood City that: <br /> 1. The Agency finds and determines that the Project will benefit the Project Area by: <br /> (a) Assisting to revitalize the downtown core with the restoration of the <br /> Historic Courthouse by enhancing the aesthetic, cultural, historic, and <br /> functional appeal of the Project Area for property owners, residents, <br /> visitors, and developers; <br /> (b) Assisting to create a public space for civic, cultural and community <br /> activities to compliment the wider redevelopment effort to create a livable, <br /> higher-density and pedestrian-friendly downtown for the City; <br /> (c) Eliminating blight in public areas of the Project Area by rehabilitating a <br /> historic landmark buitding in the core of downtown; <br /> (d) Eliminating environmental deficiencies, including substandard public <br /> improvements and facilities by rehabilitating a monumental entrance porch <br /> leading to the existing County History Museum entrance and the new <br /> public town square; and <br /> (e) Achieving an environment reflecting a high level of concem for <br /> appropriate architecture. <br /> 2. The Agency finds and determines that the Project is consistent with the <br /> implementation plan adopted for the Project Area. <br /> 3. The Agency Executive Director or his/her designee is appointed as agent of the <br /> Agency to take whatever action is necessary with respect to this programming of <br /> funds, and payment requests, in conformance with this Resolution and its basic "� <br /> purposes. <br /> 4.
