5,4 D- � WHEREAS, the Project will assist in the elimination of blighting conditions inside the Downtown Redevelopment Project Area by rehabilitating a historic landmark building in the core of the downtown; and WHEREAS, if a contribution to the local match is requested by the City, the Agency agrees to provide sufficient funds; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redwood City that: 1. The Agency finds and determines that the Project will benefit the Project Area by: (a) Assisting to revitalize the downtown core with the restoration of the Historic Courthouse by enhancing the aesthetic, cultural, historic, and functional appeal of the Project Area for property owners, residents, visitors, and developers; (b) Assisting to create a public space for civic, cultural and community activities to compliment the wider redevelopment effort to create a livable, higher-density and pedestrian-friendly downtown for the City; (c) Eliminating blight in public areas of the Project Area by rehabilitating a historic landmark buitding in the core of downtown; (d) Eliminating environmental deficiencies, including substandard public improvements and facilities by rehabilitating a monumental entrance porch leading to the existing County History Museum entrance and the new public town square; and (e) Achieving an environment reflecting a high level of concem for appropriate architecture. 2. The Agency finds and determines that the Project is consistent with the implementation plan adopted for the Project Area. 3. The Agency Executive Director or his/her designee is appointed as agent of the Agency to take whatever action is necessary with respect to this programming of funds, and payment requests, in conformance with this Resolution and its basic "� purposes. 4.
