If a proposer does not sign the code of conduct or violates the <br /> provisions of the code of conduct, they may be disqualified from participating in the <br /> contractor selection process. <br /> 2. Collection and Facility Services <br /> A. Exclusive Rights <br /> The collection contractor's exclusive rights to collect materials from residents and <br /> businesses in the SBWMA service area shall remain unchanged. The franchise hauler <br /> will have exclusive rights to all solid waste, residential recyctables, and residential <br /> organic materials; however, will compete for: (1) commercial recyclables and reusable <br /> materials; (2) commercial organic materials; and (3) non-putrescible materials hauled in <br /> drop boxes. <br /> B. Residential Services <br /> Residential collection services are summarized below with a notation of the services <br /> which are unchanged from current, new, or expansion of current programs. <br /> . Solid waste, recyclables and yard waste collection: <br /> - Mandatory solid waste collection (unchanged) <br /> - Separate collection of solid waste, recyclable materials, and yard waste <br /> (unchanged) <br /> - Weekly (rather than the current bi-weekly) collection of recyclables and <br /> yard waste (new) <br /> - Single-stream recyclables collection services (rather than the current <br /> dual-stream collection) {new} <br /> - Three, new, contractor-provided wheeled carts for solid waste, recyclable <br /> materials, and yard waste rather than customer-provided containers (new <br /> for solid waste and recycling; unchanged for yard waste) <br /> - Curbside collection as standard service with backyard service for an extra <br /> fee (new for most member agencies)1 <br /> - Contractor-provided 20-gallon solid waste cart service in addition to the <br /> current service levels (Le., 30-, 60-, gO-gallons) (expansion) <br /> - Include small scrap metal and all plastic containers coded 1 through 7 <br /> with recyclables (rather than only plastic bottles and dairy containers) <br /> (expansion) <br /> - Integrated bills using volume-based collection rates (unchanged) <br /> 1 ADA exceptions will be provided. <br /> Hilton Farnkopf & Hobson, LLC ES-4 <br /> - <br />
