As a part of this
compensation adjustment and in recognition of on-going outstanding performance, we are
recommending a one-time allocation of 80 hours of administrative leave to the City
Attorney. The 80 hours of administrative leave must be used by August 31,2007. Any
hours not used by August 31,2007 will be forfeited and are not eligible for any cash buy
out or transfer to other accrued leave types.

Alternative
The alternative would be to refuse to grant the additional hours of administrative leave.

Fiscal Impact
At current staff salary for the City Attorney, the fiscal impact would be an additional
$6.845.54 in benefits costs for time not worked. However, the true costs are difficult to
quantify as the position will not be backfilled during the 80 hours of leave and the City
Attorney's Office will be expected to make any operational impact of this leave minimal.

.~ r-'\
';'----4~ ~

Jeff Ira
Council Member

Attachment
Resolution
