<br />$. / t;. .-?4 <br /> <br />Ci Services Re uested (Traffic Control) <br />The Redwood City Police boat will be requested for patrol and enforcement of the <br />safety area around the barge. <br /> <br />The PCA may utilize one-side (outbound) curb parking along on Seaport Blvd from <br />Seaport Court to the entrance to Pacific Shores. Limited parking may be allowed in <br />some areas along the Frontage Road. This would be similar to what was done last <br />year and the PCA would employ a private security firm to assist with the orderly <br />parking of vehicles. <br /> <br />Seaport Boulevard will be closed by the Police Department as needed to control the <br />flow of vehicles trying to enter the Port area. <br /> <br />Coast Guard Permit <br />The fireworks vendor will obtain all necessary permits from the Coast Guard and <br />local agencies. Copies of these permits will be provided to the PCA and the Port <br />Director. <br /> <br />Barae operations. <br />The barge, which is approximately 40 x 100 feet, will arrive in the Port area prior to <br />the show on July 4 pm for inspection by the Redwood City Fire Department as <br />needed. It is anticipated the barge would tie up at a wharf 4 for the inspection before <br />and after the show. The actual loading of fireworks onto the barge will be done prior <br />to coming to Redwood City. <br /> <br />Barae location <br />The barge will be positioned in turning basin approximately 875 feet from the west. <br />end of wharf 5. The barge operator will have GPS equipment that can be used to <br />insure proper positioning of the barge. <br /> <br />Provisions for maintainina the Safety Zone <br />In addition to the RWC Police boat, the Sea Scouts of the Pacific Skyline Council <br />will be requested to provide ships to help define the safety perimeter and to keep <br />water craft from entering the safety zone. They will have radio communications with <br />the Redwood City Police boat if problems occur and will have the ability to issue <br />verbal warnings to boaters that the area is closed. In advance of the fireworks show, <br />the Sea Scouts will anchor their ships in position as to close/block access to the <br />turning basin and the safety zone. They will also monitor the arrival of any craft that <br />needs to transit the area to ensure the craft will clear the safety zone prior to the start <br />of the show. The Sea Scouts are part of the emergency plan for ttie Coast Guard <br />and can provide additional communications and on the water support capabilities. <br /> <br />Security for Shore-s!.Qe Spec~ <br /> <br />The PCA will provide uniformed private security personnel to direct and monitor <br />spectator activity in the office area of Seaport Court and along the public access <br />areas adjacent to the Port's Marina. Additional PCA volunteers will also on-site to <br />monitor spectator activity and to maintain a security perimeter as needed <br />
