This
property is used for light industrial manufacturing by the company I founded, FP International.
FP International also has an office at 1090 Mills Way.

I and FP International strenuously object to granting the proposed Use Pennit for the following
reasons:

1. It is unsafe for the students.

This area is not designed appropriately to take into consideration the safety of 400 students
plus whatever number of teachers, parents, and administrators visit or work at the school
each day. The traffic flow does not allow for easy access during busy times. The site has no
set-back from a very busy street. Most would be traveling through one of the worst and most
congested and dangerous intersections in the Bay Area at Woodside and Broadway. The
Post Office traffic already presents a terrible situation with its location right at the Woodside
and Broadway intersection. Further, there is substantial truck traffic in this area. This is not
a location to which I would feel safe to send my own children,

Because this facility is in the Industrial Restricted Zoning District, there are nearby properties
that have materials that could be unsafe for the students should they mischievously or
otherwise come into contact with those materials. For example, at the FP International
facility, there are tanks that contain hydrocarbons. Even though these tanks are under the
rigid controls of the EPA, we cannot prevent an errant student from causing harm to himself
and others if he were to damage one of those tanks.

2. There would be too much traffic congestion.

Virtually none of the prospective students would walk to and from school. In addition to the
safety issues I mentioned, this would present serious traffic congestion problems. There is
(a) very limited access; (b) heavy truck use; (c) Woodside & Broadway problems; (d) Post

"r-

--. T
