6./F-6 4-6.4 Water Conserving Fixtures furnished by Contractor shall be selected from the list shown on Exhibit B. No offers for substitution will be acknowledged or considered from the Contractor, distributors, manufacturers or subcontractors. 4-6.5 All internal parts of toilets supplied (or fully compatible alternative parts) shall be available for purchase at local area retail, plumbing supply, or wholesale outlets if after-market replacement parts should be required. 4-6.6 Trapway surfaces shall be free from porcelain nodules that may cause waste to "hang up" when exiting the fixture. 4-7 Normal Replacements 4-7.1 In the case of an existing graYity-fed toilet using 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) or more, normal replacement shall be a gravity or pressure-assist fixture using 1.6 gallon per flush or less with toilet seat, and including a wax ring, new water supply line and waste flange bolts together with fiber or plastic washer, nuts and caps. NOTE: Existing 1.6 gallons per flush toilets installed in a customer's site shall not be eligible for replacement. 4-7.2 In the case of showerheads using more than 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm), normal replacement will be installation of 2.0 gallons per minute showerhead supplied by the City together with an adapter if necessary. 4-7.3 In the case of existing kitchen faucets, normal replacement will be installation of 1.5 gallons per minute aerators supplied by the City provided the existing faucet(s) have internal or external threads. 4-7.3 In the case of existing lavatory faucets, normal replacement will be installation of 1.5 gallons per minute aerators supplied by the City provided the existing faucets have internal or external threads. 4-7.4 In the case of replacement CII toilets of all types, normal replacement shall include installation of a pressure assist elongated bowl equipped with open-front seat. 4-7.5 In the case of all sites, a round front bowl may be installed if the existing bathroom is too small for an elongated bowl, or the bathroom is used primarily for small children (e.g., a pre-school), or a residential customer insists upon a round- front bowl. 4-8 Toilet Upgrades for Sites with Existhlg Gravity-Fed Toilets 4-8.1 To assure satisfactory fixture performance and customer satisfaction, sites with existing gravity-fed toilets using 3.5 gallons per flush or more shall be upgraded to pressure-assist toilets, or a gravity type if the customer prefers.
