<br />6/~-7 <br /> <br />4-9 <br /> <br />Toilet Upgrades for Sites with ADA requirements <br /> <br />4-9.1 In the case of an existing gravity-fed toilet meeting ADA requirements but using <br />3.5 gallons per flush or more, normal replacement shall be a pressure-assist <br />toilet or gravity meeting ADA requirements but using 1.6 gallons per flush or less. <br /> <br />4-9.2 At CII sites that are accessible, where space permits, and where no toilet fixtures <br />meet ADA toilet fixture requirements, Contractor shall install one toilet fixture <br />meeting such requirements in an existing water closet space available to both <br />males and females. If only restrooms separated by sex are available on the site, <br />then one toilet meeting ADA requirements will be installed in the most accessible <br />men's restroom and one such toilet shall be installed in the most accessible <br />women's restroom. Such installations shall be considered normal installations <br />provided no alteration of plumbing or other physical changes to the restroom are <br />necessary. <br /> <br />4-10 Receiving, Warehousing, Inventory Control, and Distribution <br /> <br />4-10.1 Contractor shall be fully responsible for arranging for receiving, providing secure <br />warehousing, inventory control, and distribution of all water conserving fixtures <br />with the exception that the City will deliver or arrange for timely delivery of <br />showerheads and faucet aerators to a single site designated by contractor. <br /> <br />4-11 <br /> <br />Installation Procedures <br /> <br />4-11.1 All installation shall be per manufacturer's recommendations and the applicable <br />plumbing code. In case of conflict, the code shall prevail. All work shall be done <br />in a professional and workmanlike manner and site will be left clean. <br /> <br />. 4-11.2 Waste outlet seal ring: For floor outlet toilets, a wax ring will be used. <br />Alternatively, Contractor is encouraged to consider and may use the Fluidmaster <br />Wax-Free TM Bowl Gasket. <br /> <br />4-11.3 Code requires that where a fixture comes in contact with the wall or floor, the <br />joint between the fixture and the wall or floor shall be made watertjght. <br />Application of caulking to the groove created where the perimeter of the bowl <br />meets the floor or wall is therefore required. Such application shall be neat and <br />professional in appearance. <br /> <br />4-12 Abnormal Site Conditions <br /> <br />4-12.1 Abnormal Site Conditions are any condition that can be encountered at the site of <br />installation of a water conserving fixture which is not normally encountered. <br /> <br />Agreement over $10K <br />City Attorney Approved Version 111803 <br />
