06/27/2011 <br /> EXHIBIT A <br /> ARTICLE 2 - DEFINITIONS <br /> 2.1 Use of Definitions. <br /> A. Unless the provision or context otherwise requires, the definitions in this <br /> article shall govern the construction of this ordinance. <br /> B. The present tense includes the past and future tenses; and the future, the <br /> present. <br /> C. The masculine gender includes the feminine and neuter. <br /> D. The singular number includes the plural; and the plural, the singular. <br /> E. "Shall" is mandatory and "may" is permissive. <br /> 2.2 Definitions. <br /> 24-- Abandonment of Use. To cease or discontinue a use or activity, but excluding <br /> temporary or short-term interruptions to a use or activity during periods of remodeling, <br /> maintaining, or otherwise improving or rearranging a structure, or during normal periods of <br /> vacation or seasonal closure. <br /> 2,-5—Abutting Parcels. Parcels of land having a common property line other than a <br /> property line located within a public street. <br /> Adjacent. Directly abutting, having a boundary or property line(s) in common or <br /> bordering directly. or contiguous to. <br /> 2.5.05 Alteration (see also Structural Alteration). Any change, addition or <br /> modification in construction or occupancy. <br /> 2,54—Amusement Games. The term "amusement game" shall mean any device, <br /> machine, apparatus, or other instrument (including electronic games, marble games, and <br /> pinball) operated electronically, mechanically, or manually for amusement purposes which <br /> requires for the use thereof the deposit in such device, machine, apparatus, or instrument or <br /> in a receptacle attached to such device, machine, apparatus, or other instrument or <br /> connected therewith, a coin, token, or other thing of value.
