Ms. Ekas noted that the table <br />tries to clarify the uses and the processes (page 70). There was a question about sea <br />level rise. Staff noted that this is critical and that is why a couple of staff people are <br />attending regional meetings and getting some understanding on how to adapt or <br />mitigate what could be the future for us. Hold Public Hearing Regarding Redwood City's 2010 Urban Water <br />Management Plan <br />Recommendation: <br />1. Adopt the City of Redwood City 2010 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) <br />and direct staff to compile and submit the final UWMP document to the State of <br />California Department of Water Resources within 30 days. Direct staff to return to the Utilities Committee to develop a plan for expanded <br />uses of recycled water and budget -based rates for residential customers, and <br />return to the full Council for policy setting and direction. Minute Order 11 -086 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15119 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITYADOPTING THE 2010 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN <br />Mr. Justin Ezell, Public Works Water Superintendent, thanked staff, from multiple <br />departments who worked towards putting this plan together, and the workshop <br />participants. He noted that by law Redwood City is required to adopt the plan every five <br />years and he provided details on the process and notification (presentation on file). He <br />explained the changes since 2005 and he elaborated on these local, regional and <br />regulatory changes. He explained that Redwood City has met its 2015 and 2020 <br />targets which is great news and so are the economic impacts. He covered some <br />scenarios related to potential drastic future cuts. Mr. Ezell also expanded on the Use of <br />Recycled Water. He provided details on Phase II of the project area of the recycled <br />water plan. He clarified that in order to pursue this Council action will be needed and <br />consideration of a policy that would allow use of recycled water in certain areas. Mr. <br />Ezell reiterated the actions before Council tonight. <br />Vice Mayor Aguirre opened the Public Hearing <br />Public Comment <br />Marsha Cohen thanked Mr. Ezell and staff for their hard work and for answering her <br />questions.
