6.1.G. - Page 2 <br />Bidder <br />Bid Amount <br />Ghilotti Bros / Cooper Crane JV - Novato <br />$501,636 <br />Engineer's Estimate <br />$263,000 <br />Recommended Bidder None <br />Substantiation Staff considers the bid prices to be too high and the budget is insufficient <br />The low base bid of $501,636 is significantly higher than the Engineer's Estimate of <br />$263,000. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder Ghilotti Bros/ <br />Cooper Crane JV for their low bid of $501,363. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for the proposed maintenance boat ramp were previously approved and <br />appropriated as GID 1 -64 Facilities Charge Construction — Lagoon Maintenance Boat <br />Ramp which has an available balance of $201,113.46, augmented by $100,000.00 from <br />the Capital Projects Fund — Storm Drain Creeks & Channels for a total project budget of <br />approximately $301,000. Total project budget includes cost of design, inspection, and <br />staff time as well as cost of construction. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br />As the lead agency, the City of Redwood City has determined that this report does not <br />propose any action that constitutes a project as defined by the California Environmental <br />Quality Act (CEQA). <br />S.
