Mr. Phong Du, P.E.--- EXHIBIT "B" - August 25, 1997 Page 3 PROPOSAL We agree to perform the geotechnical laboratory testing in accordance with our unit charges, and the field observation, testing and reporting on a time and materials basis in accordance with the attached Schedule of Charges. Durability Index (Calif. 229) $160.00 ,~ · R-Value (Calif. 301) $160.00 / · Sand Equivalent (Calif. 217) $55.00 · Plasticity Index (ASTM D-4318) $80.00 / · Modified Proctor Compaction Test (ASTM D-1557) $120.00 Field Testinq The field compaction tests will be performed by our Field Technician at an hourly rate of $45.00. We request that field testing be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. If extenuating field circumstances prevail, the Field Technician will be available to the City Engineer within 1 hour. Unless specified otherwise by the City Engineer, all pertinent field data and compaction test information will be tabulated on our standard Daily and Field Compaction Test forms and submitted weekly with the Daily Reports. All test depths will be recorded and the locations will be measured in the field and plotted onto a reduced version of the appropriate project plan sheet. The weekly submittals of Daily Reports will include these documents. Daily Reports and Job Reviews Reporting will be performed by our Field Technician on an hourly basis of $45100 per hour, and will include the information indicated above, in addition to a thorough description of the Contractor activities. For quality assurance, the Senior Engineer will review the dailies prior to the required weekly submittal to the City Engineer. We anticipate that the weekly review will amount to approximately ¼ hour at a rate of $95.00 per hour. Earth Investigations Consultants
