Samaritan Training Center Agreement for Paramedic Training Field Internship Experience This is an agreement between Samaritan Training Center, Inc. ("Samaritan Training Center") and the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation of the State of Califomia (hereinafter referred to as "Contractor"). WITNESSETH: A. Samaritan Training Center conducts a Paramedic Training Program which provides prehospital care training for persons desiring to become paramedics in accordance with the provisions of S.B. 125 and State regulations pertinent to paramedic training. B. Samaritan Training Center is desirous that its trainees participating in the program obtain field internship experience by being assigned to mobile intensive care units operated by Contractor. C. Contractor has facilities for furnishing this field intemship experience to the trainees participating in Samaritan Training Center program and is desirous of making its facilities available for this purpose. Now therefore, the parties agree as follows: 1. Contractor agrees to provide a supervised program of field internship experiences to the selected paramedic trainees in accordance with the terms and conditions stated in this agreement. Individuals supervising the internship experience (field preceptors) shall be mutually acceptable to the parties, and shall meet the requirements of Section 100148 (e) of Title 22, Cahfornia Code of Regulations. 2. The period of time for each trainee's field internship experience with Contractor shall be mutually agreed upon between Samaritan Training Center and Contractor prior to the beginning of each trainee's field internship experience. Reasonable extensions of the internship may be agreed to by the parties if they mutually agree a particular trainee requires additional 3. The number of trainees to participate in the field internship experience with Contractor at any given time shall be mutually agreed upon by Contractor and Samaritan Training Center prior to the beginning of the field internship experience program and may be modified from time to time by mutual agreement upon the request of either pan'y. 4. Samaritan Training Center shall be responsible for selecting only California Public Fire Agency trainees who will be assigned to Contractor and such selection will be made without regard to the race, creed, color, sex, handicap or national or/gin of the trainee. On or about four (4) weeks prior to the beginning of each trainee's field internship experience with Contractor, Samaritan Training Center shall forward to Contractor the name, biographical data, report of health status and other appropriate information of each trainee selected by Samaritan Training Center to participate in Contractor's field internship experience. Contxactor shall have the right prior to amval of the trainees to request from Samaritan Training Center additional reasonable information concerning any or all of the selected trainees.
