Task Order No. 1 - Lowney Associates, Inc. The odginal consultant contracts with Lowney
Associates were for specialty-testing services for the first two phases (park and school). There
was no soil testing services bid for this Phase (111) in the odginal contract as complete, plus
were not available at the time of the bid. This task order is for on-site testing of soils during the
construction of the Community Center. This work was always contemplated, but without
specific plans for Phase III, we could not bid it at the time of the original contract with Lowney
Associates.

School Distdct cost $10,324
City Cost 10,325
Total Cost $20,649

Task Order No. I - S~qnet Testing Labs, Inc. This contract was first awarded to provide
specialty testing for the school. This task order will allow for the testing of steel, welding,
concrete and other specialty items at the Community Center. As above, we could not bid
testing services as we did not have complete plans for Phase III at the time of the odginal
contract with Signet Testing Labs, Inc.

School Distdct cost $ 2,000
City Cost 2,000
Total Cost $ 4,000

Normally, there would not be multiple task orders for a project like this, but because the project
was split into three phases, we did not have the plans ready for the consultants to provide a
bid. The three consultants have provided good service to the City and School District, and are
familiar with the project, and the above task order requests are considered reasonable.

Fiscal Impacts: The money for the consultants can be provided in the existing Capital
Improvement Program Budget for this project.

Total School Distdct cost $33,178
Total City Cost 20,270
Total Change Orders $53,448

~and
JP/JKL/PG:ss
lib/reports/lynch/Sandpiper Park Task Orders
