DESCRIPTION OF SYSTEM

(Trilon ShotSpotter - Gunshot Location System)

The Trilon ShotSpotter System (the "System") is intended to be used to
provide law enforcement authorities with a means of rapidly locating the source
of gunfire in urban environments. The System consists of eight (8) acoustic
sensors mounted in strategic locations within a defined area in an elevated
position, usually 12 to 25 feet above the ground, typically on rooftops. The
sensors are networked via telephone lines to the central computer system in a
designated location by the law enforcement authority. As the system being
purchased is one that was originally tested by the City, the location of the central
computer system will remain the same as will the majority, if not all, of the
acoustic sensors. The Gunshot Location System is comprised of the following
components:

Acoustic Sensors. Sensors consist of a microphone and preamplifier
located in a weather resistant enclosure. This assembly, usually installed on a
rooftop, is connected to a power supply and a telephone answering unit located
in a protected area, usually indoors and in close proximity to the acoustic sensor.
The sensors operate on a 110 volt power and are connected to a telephone line.

Collector. The collector is an electronic unit located at the monitoring
station, it accepts eight (8) telephone line inputs via modular connectors, and
connects to the central computer system and annunciator in the dispatch room.

Agmt-079
Shared/Redwood/Council
FXS:rg
07/21/97
A-1

EXHIBIT "A"
