The grantee . sha2l pay to the city, on demand, the cost of all repairs to public ro p p erty made necessary by any of the operations of the grantee under this franchise. Section 14. in TY BOND. The grantee shall, within five days after the date of the granting of this franchise, file with the City Council of said city a bond running to said city, with at least two good and sufficient sureties to be approved by said City Council, in the penal sum of one Thousand Dollars conditioned that said grantee shall well and truly observe, fulfill and perform each and every term and condition of this franchise, and that in case of any breach of condition of said bond, the whole amount of the penal sum therein named shall be taken and deemed to be liquidated damages and shall be recoverable from the principal and sureties upon said bond, Section 15. POLICE 1'twz.KS . The city reserves the right to impose upon the grantee, in its operation under this franchise, all reasonable regulations for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and general welfare, Section 16, NOT EXCLUSIVE. The franchise granted here- under shall not be exclusive. Section 17. ASSIGNUjoTs The grantee shall file with the City Council, within thirty days after any sale, transfer, assigment or lease of this franchise or any part thereof or any of the rights or privileges granted hereby, written evidence of the same certified to by the grantee or its duly authorized officers. This franchise and the privileges under it shall not be sold, leased, assigned, or otherwise alienated, other than to the City of Redwood City,, without the express consent of athe Council given by ordinance and subject to ref erendum.
