ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 60-19b 1 TO ORDINANCE NO 1130, THE � REDWOOD CITY ZOP�ING ORDINANCE, REZONING PROPERTY IN THE ' VICINITY OF EDGEWOOD ROAD, SYLVAN WAY AND GLENLOCH WAY The ordinance was ap'proved unanimously by roll call vote � Legislative Co�nittee Report No 77-1 Councilman Barrett, Chairman of the Legislative Committee, reviewed the recommendations of the Committee contained in the Leg�slative Committee Report No 77-1 dated April 8, 1977 Councilman Biagi requested that the recommendations regarding tax proposals be considered separately with regard to 56 443 (Smith) and AB 529(Torres) Discussion followed concerning 9eneral opposition to the business inventory tax, the fact that while SB 443 and AB 529 would expand the business inventory tax exemption allowable under the law, they do not make provision for adequate reimbursement of local government of the revenues derived from that tax, that ad,7oining states do not have such a tax resulting in the warehousing of inventory in those states during the inventory period, that the tax �s most unfa�r to small business, the possible use by the authors of the bi11s of letters supporting them provided amendments are made relating to proper re�mbursement of local government; and the analysis by the League of California Cities of the large revenue loss to cities a previous b�ll on the same sub�ect would have caused. , CONSENSUS It was determined by Chairman Barrett that it is the consensus of Counc�l that letters be written to Senator Gregorio and Assemblyman Arnett making no statement of opposition or support -3- - Reg.Mtg 4/11/77
