26] <br /> 1 k- <br /> Pat Pellarin Chairman of the Peninsula Youth Center, Inc , policy <br /> body for Fair Oaks Community Child Care Program, urged support of <br /> services at the Center and of CEC and PROBE <br /> � Amy Lopez, stated she is associated with a bilingual program and <br /> urged Revenue Sharing funds be allocated to the Senior Drop-In Center <br /> She commented favorably on the contributions of the Center to older <br /> persons in the neighborhood. <br /> Citizen, spoke in support of the Drop-In Center services, noting that <br /> many people who attend are directed to the appropriate agencies which <br /> can assist them and acknowledged requests for financial support must <br /> also be requested from San Mateo County She thanked the Council for <br /> past support at Fair Oaks Community Center <br /> Lee Rogers, Administrator of Halfway House, requested that the $5,000 <br /> allocated to that agency in Revenue Sharing funds be increased to <br /> $10,000 in recognition of inflation and rising costs Mr Rogers <br /> also urged support of the Drop-In Center. <br /> Philip Raffael, Coalition for Economic Democracy, suggested Revenue <br /> Shar7ng funds were intended for human services only and noted that <br /> recent �nflation has caused the income of increasing numbers of <br /> people to fall below the poverty level Mr Raffael urged support <br /> of all human services. The required uses of Revenue Sharing funds <br /> �n the past and at present were briefly described to Mr. Raffael, <br /> and it was explained that the City has used the funds within all of <br /> zhe requirements of the law <br /> � E7eanor Holland, Administrator of the Senior Nutrition Program, Fair <br /> Oa<<s Community Center, advised that the multipurpose room at the <br /> cen�er is used for da�7y meal service for seniors who seem very <br /> pleased with tihe program. She urged support for services at the <br /> Certer <br /> Tom Jord an, Area Agency on Aging, observed that the goal of the <br /> Senior droo-Tn Center is to assist older persons in being inde- <br /> pendent ancf ieading more fulfilling lives.
