The motion carried unanimously by voice vote � The public hearing was closed at 3 55 p.m , (The Council recessed from 3.55 to 4 05 p.m.) MOTION• Councilman Biagi moved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, the following changes in the Recortgnended Annual Budget 1977-78 1. page 131, REUENUE SHARING, Leisure, Cultural and Information Services eliminate the 99,050 budgeted for improved parking, play apparatus area, new picnic areas and add�tional park furn�ture at Red Morton Community Park; 2. pages 41 and 42, TRANSPORTATION, Street Facility Improve- ments, allocate $80,000 of the Revenue Sharing Funds eliminated in 1. above to street resurfacing, thereby � reducing the property tax rate approximately 3zQ, 3. page 130, REVENUE SHARING, Human Services Assistance Pro rarn, allocate an additional 1,000 of the Funds � eliminated in 1. above to the Emergency Hunger Fund, . making a total allocation of $4,000 to that Fund, and -� 4. that tne $18,050 balance remaining unallocated from the Funds eliminated in 1. above be placed in the Revenue Sharing Fund Reserve The motion carr7ed unanimously by voice vote. MOTION Councilman B�agi moved, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, that on page 4b, ENUTRONMENiAL SUPPORT AND PRO7ECTION, Clean Streets, that the downtown commercial areas be swept twice a week instead of three t�mes a waek and that the residential areas be swept once every three weeks �nstead of once every two weeks, thereby reducing costs for street sweeping by $40,000, or a reduction of 1.8¢ in the property �ax ra �e MOTTON WITHDRAWN At the request of City Manager Fales who noted �'r�at the proposed reduction �n street sweeping may not be able to be translated into a one-third reduction in cost for the serv�ce, Council- ' man Biay7, with the consent of his second, agreed to w�thdraw his motion perding receipt of a report on the matter from staff.
