31 �5 <br /> Report of Advisory Board of Fair Oaks Comnunity <br /> Center re position of Facility Leader <br /> Lucina Berumen, member of the sub,7ect Board, read a report dated <br /> June�from Nita De Masi, Chairperson, Fair Oaks Community <br /> Center Advisory Board, co�nenting on the favorable image of the <br /> , Center and requesting reconsideration by Council of the decision � <br /> to eliminate the position of Facility Leader. <br /> South Bays�de System Author�ty (SBSA) <br /> ' treatment plant operation . <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of June 24, 1977 regarding <br /> the proposed agreement with SBSA for operation of the Redwood City ' <br /> treatment facility during the estimated two-year interim period <br /> until the new SBSA facility is completed ' <br /> � <br /> Jeff Dinkin, representative of Servtce Employees International Union <br /> SEIU inquired as to whether the copy of the proposed agreement � <br /> furnished to SEIU is identical to that being considered. City <br /> Attorney Schricker advised that some revisions were made regard�ng <br /> insurance but that no change in the su6stance of the agreement has <br /> been made. <br /> In response to questions of Mr. Dinkin relating to present sewage <br /> treatment facility employees, Mr, Fales advised that both City and <br /> SBSA personnel have discussed the proposal with the affected em- <br /> ployees, and all pertinent provisions of the Memorandum of Under- <br /> standing with Local 715, SEIU, either have been or will be complied <br /> with prior to the actual transfer of operational responsibility, <br /> ' noted that all hiring will be done by SBSA, advised that the City <br /> has agreed to write a letter to SBSA encouraging them to employ <br /> present City sewage treatment facility employees at such time as <br /> they are hiring personnel; and reminded Mr. Dinkin that SEIU is <br /> familiar with those actions. <br /> Mr. Dinkin urged Council to go on record asking SBSA'to retain the <br /> , current employees of Redwood City who are involved.
