�2� <br /> , ,�: � <br /> Mr. Gardella advised that the appellant would not ob�ect to a short <br /> delay in Council decision on his appeal <br /> MOTION• Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, to <br /> ' continue the public hearing on the appeal of the denial by the Plan- <br /> m ng Commiss�on of the proposal to amend the General Plan of Pierre <br /> Hondagneu until Monday, February 7, 1977 <br /> City Attorney Schricker advised that it would not be proper to dis- <br /> cuss the particular sub,7ect appeal at the January 31 seminar, but only <br /> the overall sub�ect of sewage capacity. <br /> James Knecht 1720 Valota Road, wholesale florist, stated that it is <br /> no longer possible to operate a family nursery economically. Mr. <br /> Knecht advised that the front part of his property is zoned R-2 and <br /> that provision has been made on his nursery property for sewers and <br /> a storm drain. Mr Knecht suggested the General Plan can be changed <br /> to accortunodate existing economic situations. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER N0. 77-16) <br /> (The Counc�l recessed from 8 56 to 9 07 p.m.) <br /> Fair Oaks Community Center Advisory Board <br /> reconenendation re youth representative appointee <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of January 20, 1977 re- <br /> , garding appointment of a youth representative to the Fair Oaks Com- <br /> munity Center Advisory Board and attaching report from the Cortrtnunity <br /> Center Coordinator recoimnending Luis Trucios be appointed. Mr. Fales <br /> advised that although he reported that Mr. Trucios is a parttime City <br /> employee which might require a change in Council policy if he were <br /> to be appointed, he has since learned that there are restrictions <br /> which prevent the appointment of any employee to a City board or <br /> commission <br /> City Attorney Schricker confirmed that the Municipal Code implements <br /> the City Charter with regard to the prohibition against appointment <br /> of any employee to a board or commission and that no distinction is <br /> made between full and parttime employees <br /> , <br /> Mayor Leipzig asked the City Manager to write to Mr. Trucios express- <br /> ing regret that Council is unable to appoint him to the Fair Oaks <br /> Advisory Board and thanking him for his willingess to serve the <br /> community (memo 1/25/77) <br /> Possible acquisition of National Guard Armory <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of January 20, 1977 re- <br /> garding possible acquisition of the National Guard Armory for use as <br /> ' a senior center or other recreational facility. <br /> There betng no ob�ection, Mayor Letpzig accepted the Manager's recom- <br /> mendation that staff be authorized to proceed with further research <br /> -3- <br /> Reg Mtg. <br /> 1/24/77 <br /> I <br />
