Program, <br /> observed that the Task Force greatly appreciated the efforts of the <br /> commun�ty in responding to the water emergency and called attention <br /> to the compliments to Redwood City of Ma�or General Frank Schober, <br /> Jr. of the Californ�a Drought Emergency Task Force for having <br /> an outistanding water conservation program. <br /> Don Warren W A T E R, corrmended the City Council and City staff <br /> for their cooperation and participat�on in the Program, and called <br /> attention to the many organizations in the City whose members had <br /> had a part in successfully reducing water consumptton. � <br /> Marian de Trude Girl Scout executive and producer of the slide <br /> presentation, presented her program documenting the efforts of <br /> WATE R. <br /> Mayor Leipzig commended Ms. de Trude on having produced the excellent <br /> slide program and all of those who assisted her Mayor Leipzig <br /> urged the Task Force to make the slide presentation available to as <br /> many communities as possible as an excellent example of the contri- <br /> bution volunteer groups work�ng with the City can do in attaining <br /> � the goal of reduced water consumption. <br /> �ublic Hearing - Planned Develo'ment Permit (PD77-07 for a four lex <br /> on a parcel conta�ning 23 350 square feet in an <br /> R-2 District, 703 Madison Avenue, Per Calden - <br /> (denied by Planning Commission <br /> Mayor Leipzig declared open at 8 00 p m the sub�ect public hearing <br /> City Clerk Hildebrand reported the Affidavit of Publication of Notice <br /> of Hearing and the Affidavtt of Mailing are on flle in her offi ce. <br /> Joe Arata 623 Madison, stated he represents 25 residents of Madtson <br /> Avenue who ob�ect to the issuance of a PDP for the sub,7ect proposed <br /> development. Mr Arata said neighbors are concerned about possible <br /> future deterioration of the neighborhood if construction of any <br /> additional multiple-family dwellings is permitted. <br /> Fred Blomquist, land surveyor, advised he has been employed by Per <br /> Calden, the applicant, but was not asked to appear at this time. <br /> Mr Blomquist advised that he believes Mr Calden would be satis- <br /> fied if he mi9ht be permitted to construct three units instead of <br /> the four requested in the PDP application. <br /> Leonard Pasdera 639 Madison, stated that he believes a four unit <br /> � development wouid be undesirable use of the sub�ect property, but , <br /> that he appreciates the d�fficulties of the owner of the property <br /> in developing a long, narrow lot (55' frontage x 243') and would <br /> be willing to tolerate a duplex development.
