1 i � �4 21 Consent Calendar � MOTION Title hav�ng been read, Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Counc�lman Biagi, adoption of the previously approved ordinance ' and approval of all other items ORDINANCE NO 1724 AMENDIN6 SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO 1713, EST BLISHING SALARY AND WAGE PLAN FOR CERTAIN EMPLOYEE CLASSI- FICATIONS RELATING TO MANAGEMENT AND CONFIDENTIAL ASSIGNMENTS, ' AND CERTAIN DESIGNATED OFFICERS, TO ADJUST THE MONTHLY SALARY RATE FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF CITY MANAGER (approved 10/10/77) Claim Franklin R& Barbara A Albers, 558 Live Oak Lane, request for cancellation of penalty charged for excessive water usage allegedly caused when outside faucet left running during absence Recortunend denial and refer to staff (MINUTE ORDER NO 77-223) Approval of warrants nos. 32,797 through 32,969, totaling $252,459.56 Request to attend Second Annual Briefing on Legislative Implementation of the League of California C�ties on November 10, 1977, San Francisco, by Councilmen Barrett, Bury, Rhodes and Mayor Leipzig (MINUTE ORDER NO 77-224) The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote Res�gnation of Vince Buckhout 1 from Downtown Action Task Force Attention was called to the copy of a letter of resignation dated September 3, 1977 from Vince Buckhout to Winfield Whitney, Chair- man of the Downtown Action Task Force and accompanying memorandum of October 17 from the City Manager, and because of Mr Buckhout's selfless contributions of time and effort to the community, partic- ularly with regard to the downtown improvement pro,7ect, it was agreed that public recognition should be given to him at a meeting of the Council in the near future Amendments to Lon shoremen's and Harbor Workers' Act S 2020 Cranston)) Further reference was made (see Minutes of October 10, 1977) to the sub,7ect bill and concern regarding exemption from the Act of vessels defined as recreational boats with respect to the phrase in the bill as part of that defim tion, ".and not required to have a val�d marine document as a vessel of the United States " It was noted that unfortunately, it is becoming increas�ngly necessary for United States boats to be documented vessels because of the numbers being ' confiscated by foreign countries, and it was suggested that this should be clarified Mayor Leipzig advised that she had contacted Senator Cranston regarding his amendments and was reassured with , regard to concerns expressed at the Council meeting of October 10.
