Kinq, owners - Mayor Leipzig declared open at 9 12 the sub�ect public hearing City Clerk Hildebrand reported the Affidavit of Publication of Notice of Hearing and the Affidavit of Mailing are on file in her office. Mayor Leipzig invited anyone present who wished to speak to do so No one wished'to speak MOTION: Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, to close the public hearing The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. Title having been read, Councilman Bia9i �ntroduced the following ordinance and moved, seconded by Councilman Bury, its approval for first reading ORDINANCE ADDING SECTION 60 14 2 TO ORDINANCE NUMBER 1130, THE REDWOOD CITY ZONING ORDINANCE, REZONING PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF JEFFERSON AVENUE AND TOPAZ STREET The ordinance was approved unanimously by roll call vote. MOTION Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, that when the City Council introduces a resolution of intention to rezone that the necessary amendments be made to the Zoning Ordinance to allow Council to retain �urisdiction over the proposed amendment or to return the item to the Planning Corrmission City Attorney Schricker advised that in matters where the City Council is not otherwise bound by State Law, it would be possible for Council to retain �urisdiction, but that he would prefer to research the sub�ect AMENDMENT TO MOTION Councilman Barrett, with the consent of his ' second, added that the question of whether Council may retain �uris- diction �n certain rezoning matters be referred to staff for rev�ew and recommendation The motion as amended carried unanimously by voice vote.
