• V a 142 Public Hearing - Appeal of the denial by the Planning Conemssion of the proposal to amend the General Plan under pro- ceedinq number GP 76-05 - Pterre Hondagneu, Appellant (NOTE See City Council Minutes of January 24, 1977, pages 2-3) Mayor Leipzig declared the sub�ect public hearing continues open. ' Richard Gardella attorney representing the appellant, referred to his testimony of January 24, 1977 and urged again that the sub�ect property be removed from the designation of Open Space and that the property be designated to permit the property owner to make reason- able use of his land. Mayor Leipzig invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so No one present wished to speak. � MOTION Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, to close the public hearing The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. The public hearing was closed at 7 44 p.m Brief discussion followed concerning the alternatives which might be available for City parcels presently zoned AG (Agricultural) �n recognition of certain economic factors which may not permit such use of the land MOTION: Councilman Norris moved that staff be instructed to work with the Planning Commission to look at the parcels zoned AG in the , Ctty with a view toward considering alternatives In response to question, City Attorney Schricker advised that a specific individual action with regard to the appeal before Council should he taken and then it would be proper to consider the motion of Councilman Norris on the general sub�ect Discuss�on followed concerning the desire of Council to consider all similar parcels together and whether it should be made clear that any decision of Council to zone the properties for other uses does not mean that building permits and sewer connections would auto- matically be granted MOTION WITHDRAWN Councilman Norris withdrew his motion. MOTION Title having been read, Councilman Barrett introduced the following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Rhodes, its adoption RESOLUTION NO 7756 AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN LANDS THEREIN FROM "OPEN SPACE" TO"LOW-DENSITY RESIDENTIAL" Councilman Biagi advised he would abstain from voting on the sub�ect appeal since he was not present at the public hearing held on ' January 24, 1977. -2- Reg Mtg. 2/7/77
