Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Counc�lman Biagi, to <br /> � accept the staff recoimnendation that planting and turfing in Dolphin <br /> Parks 1, 2 and 3 and Marlin Park 2 not be completed at the present <br /> time because of the increase in water use demanded <br /> In response to quest�on, Mr. Weeks advised that his office is attempt- <br /> ing to compile definitive information on watering requirements of <br /> various spec�es of plants, noting that maximum attention is given to <br /> plantings, not to turf. <br /> Mr. Fales advised that some water will be used on the new parks to <br /> keep dust levels down, while it is hoped that weeds will grow which <br /> will accomplish the same thing <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. (MINUTE ORDER N0. 77-30) <br /> MOTION• Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Biagi, that <br /> it is the intent of Council to provide adequate revenue for comple- <br /> tion of the parks in Redwood Shores when the water crisis is over. <br /> CLARIFICATION: In response to questions regarding the source of such <br /> funds, Councilman Norris advised that it is the intent of his motion <br /> to make a commitment regarding the parks, but that the specific source <br /> is not known at the present time. <br /> CLARIFICATION: In response to question, Councilman Norr�s advised <br /> , that he is aware that it is not possible to bind future City Councils, <br /> but that h�s motion merely states the intent of Council now. <br /> ADDITION TO MOTION• Councilman Norris, with the consent of his second, <br /> added that the City should accept the kind offer from the private <br /> sector (Mobil) to'work with the City to develop a community water <br /> conservation program. <br /> ADDITION TO MOTION. At the request of Vice Mayor Barrett and with <br /> the consent of his second, Councilman Norris agreed to add that the <br /> motion regarding intent of Council concerning the provision of ade- <br /> quate revenues for completion of parks be extended to include all • <br /> City parks presently being developed, that is Canyon and Palm. <br /> The motion as clarif�ed and with two additions carried unanimously <br /> by voice vote.
