159 <br /> Written Commu m cations (continued) <br /> MOTION: Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Bury, <br /> that some City Council observations be forwarded by tetter to the <br /> San Mateo County Board of Supervisors �n connection w�th their <br /> t decision on Chope Hospital, as follows: <br /> . that Chope Nosp�tal is a very complex issue and has generated <br /> p a great deal of conununity �nterest and polarization; <br /> . that the Board of Supervisors has been provided a number of <br /> informational documents that are not available to the City <br /> Council to assist the Board of Superv�sors in making a very <br /> d�fficult decision; <br /> . that the County is well serviced by a county hospital for those <br /> who are indigent and difficult patients as well as those mem- <br /> bers of the public who desire treatment where a facility is <br /> scaled in size that the County can find affordable; and <br /> . that the Council feels the decentralized concept has worked , <br /> and would encourage the County to expartd the concept to the <br /> north and coastside. ' <br /> The mot�on carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER N0. 77-40) <br /> Area Disaster Council <br /> ' Councilman Rhodes, representative to the Area Disaster Council, re- <br /> ported on the recent meeting of that Council and described details of <br /> the current proposed budget. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Counctlman Biagi, to <br /> give the representative to the Area Disaster Counc�l authority to <br /> � approve the proposed budget of that Council for 1977-78. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. (MINUTE ORDER N0. 77-41) <br /> Chamber of Cortmerce Task Force for powntown Action <br /> City ��lanager Fales called attention to his report d�stributed to <br /> Council on the subject Task Force, adv�sing that the first meeting <br /> will be conducted by the Chamber at 8•00 a.m., Wednesday, February 16, <br /> 1977 in the City Manager's office.
