154 j <br /> Public Wearing - Applicat�on for approval of Planned Development <br /> Permit to allow construct�on of ten condominium units <br /> with 20 covered parking spaces alonq with an scapeTc <br /> areas on property located at 104 Central Avenue - <br /> Nils Naqa and Per Calden, applicants <br /> Mayor Leipzig declared open at 7 38 p m the sub�ect public hearing , <br /> Deputy C�ty Clerk Reggetts reported that the Affidavit of Publicat�on <br /> of Notice of Near�ng and the Affidavit of Ma�ling are on file <br /> � Mayor Leipzig invited mem�ers of the audience to speak <br /> Craig Steinman, 978 Villa Isle Circle, Palo Alto, architect for the <br /> pro�ect, described the proposed development, their ob�ectives to re- <br /> ta�n a number of trees on the property, and to have the pro�ect fit <br /> in with the neighborhood, w�th ciustered units, and providing pri- <br /> vate yards for the tenants as well as a public yard for the neighbor- <br /> hood, keep7ng c�rculat7on roadways for automobiles to a minimum, and <br /> w�th two parking stalls per unit, plus guest parking. <br /> Discussion followed concerning the �mpact of the development on <br /> service streets to and from the pro�ect, the fact that any develop- <br /> ment of additional housing will �ncrease traffic on the streets <br /> and the only method of reducing ihe impact of traffic is by reduction <br /> of zoning density Additlonal discussion related to whether the <br /> provision for guest parking was considered adequate, the fact that <br /> there is a tendency for tenants rather than guests to use the guest <br /> parking for automobile storage unless provision for such spaces is <br /> limited so as to encourage fellow res�dents to reserve those spaces <br /> for the intended purpose of guest parking <br /> In response to questior by Council, the applicant indicated that the , <br /> conditions imposed by the Planning Commission were agreeable to them. <br /> Mayor Leipzig invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do <br /> so No one wished to speak. <br /> MOTION Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norr�s, <br /> to close the public hearing <br /> �� <br /> The mot�on carried by unanimous voice vote The public hearing <br /> was closed at 7 50 p m. <br /> MOTION Title having beer� read, Counciir��an Rhodes introduced the <br /> follow�ng resolution and r�oved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, <br /> its adoption <br /> RESOLUTION NO 80�4 CONDITIONALLY APPROVING APPLICATION FOR <br /> PL NNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY IN THE <br /> VICINITY OF CENTRAL AVENUE AND MURRAY COURT IN THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY <br /> The resolut�on was adopted unanimously by roll call vote <br /> A reement with Southern Pacific Trans ortation ' <br /> Companv for EDA Pro�ect Port Area Sewer and Water) <br /> City Manager Fales referred to h7s report of Aprii 7, 1978, to which <br /> was attached a report dated April 4, 1978 from the Director of <br /> Reg.Mtg -2- <br /> 4/10/78 <br /> � - <br />
