Ms. Jackson stated that the proect was
not assgned a high priority on the "Citizen Proect Priority List",
distributed copies of the list to Council; and suggested projects
with higher priorities on the List have not been undertaken (NOTE
, The List was prepared•for 1975-76 and copy is on file in the Office
of the City Clerk )
, In response to questions, Ms. Jackson stated that her clients had
lived on Beech Street in Redwood Cty, that she is not presently
aware of their address but believes they are attempting to resettle
in Redwood City, that they had an unlawful detainer problem, and that
' ' the source of her- complaint on their behalf is that as low income -
persons, her clients have housing problems and she is interested
,' r in what is being done with federal funds intended for the develop-
- ment of low ncome housing.
, i In further response to questions, Ms. Jackson said that she has no
r evidence to present regarding the low income status of her clients
except her word, that the clients are unemployed; and that she pre-
fers that the CDBG funds not be spent on proects involving street
repair.
Ms. Jackson then proceeded to ask questions about each pro,7ect
' named on the List in order of the "Rank Final Priority" and Council
members and staff responded, describing the present status, as
follows
"1. Rehabilitation loans from City HCDA funds at rates sub-
stantially below current market." The pro,7ect was coimnenced
some time ago, is continuing and is quite successful.
"2. Expand child care facility at Fair Oaks Cormnunity Center "
Expansion of the entire Center is included in the Budget for the
current year, advertisement for bid has been made; bid opening
is scheduled for February 9, that expansion of the child care
facility is a part of the total pro,7ect. _
Reg.Mtg. -p-
1/23/78
 .
