He spoke �n support of the motion. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> N�ta__ Di Mast, Chairman of the Fatr Oaks Commum ty Center Advtsory Board, <br /> urged Council to reconsider the decision to eliminate the position of <br /> Coordinator of the Center <br /> Discusston followed and Mr Fales commented and replied to questions <br /> concerning the fact that the City built the Center because such a faci- <br /> lity was needed to serve the cortnnunity in which it is located, the fact <br /> that the City �s forced to make budget cuts in all services; the desire <br /> to keep the Center open and operating as many hours as possib7e rather <br /> than sacrifice operating hours to retain a coordinator; the posstbility <br /> of the Center becomang a nonprofit ag2ncy and attracti�g funds from other ° <br /> sources•and similar reductions and elimtnation of services elsewhere <br /> �n the'C�ty <br /> Sally Salinas, Senior Drop-In Center Director, suggested it might be <br /> ' possible to retain the Coordinator wh�le the nonprofit corporation � <br /> prospect is explored. <br /> The motion carried unan�mously by voice vote.
