<br /> Mayor`L'eipzig�reported that'she and'Councilman Bury�and approxi`
<br /> mately 600 other officials in California attended the sub�ect
<br /> Conference sponsored by,the League of California Cities and the
<br /> Caliform a Tax Reform Association in Sacramento on February'23 �'�
<br /> and 24. Mayor Le�pzig advi'sed that while the entire conference
<br /> program was certainlq worthwhile, most of those attending were '
<br /> present to hear the featured speaker, Woward Jarvis, defend h�s Prop-
<br /> osit�on 13. He had accepted the invitiation in writing as well
<br /> as orally, but she reported that Mr. Jarvis did not appear'and that
<br /> ' imnediate investigation by those conducting the Conference revealed
<br /> that�'representatives of the�local office'of the Apartment House
<br /> ,.Owners Associ�ation had advised that Mr. Jarvis had left Sacramento
<br /> �,7ust preceding the�time he was scheduled to appear on the program.

<br /> control officers because of the cost, but it is difficult for the

<br /> Water rate reduction
<br /> MOTION Councilman Biagi moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, that
<br /> the Peninsula Water Agency and the Bay Area Water Users Association
<br /> be�asked-to attempt to obtain a greater reduction in the water rate
<br /> than the 12% being suggested by the San Francisco Water District.
<br /> The motion carried unanimoualy by voice vote. ,
